DENNIS OLIECH set to bid France adieus for a new challenge in South Africa.

Tuesday, May 06, 2014 - Kenya international, Dennis Oliech, has revealed he is poised to bid France’s Ligue 1 adieu in the summer, with South Africa’s PSL, his likely destination.

Oliech, who currently plies his trade with Ligue 1 outfit, Ajaccio, says ‘several’ clubs in South Africa have expressed their interest in his services.

The former Harambee Stars skipper is keen to jump ship after Ajaccio were relegated following a dire campaign in Ligue 1.

Speaking on this developments, the former FC Nantes hit-man said:

"Several clubs in South Africa have shown their interest in me and currently my manager (Christian Bracconi) is in discussions to get the most viable option ahead of the August transfer window.

"I have played in France for several years and I don't think it will be a bad idea to try a different challenge in Africa. South Africa's football standards are high so let’s wait and see how things will pan out."

Oliech made his debut for Kenya in 2002 when Harambee Stars lost 3-0 to Nigeria but his highest moment so far remains the wonder goal he scored against Cape Verde that ensured Kenya qualified for the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, for a striker who was heavily linked with a big money move to Turkish top flight side Kasimpasa Spor, barely a year ago, this will come as a step down in his career as he certainly has still a lot to offer.
